Pocahontas's Story...
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Pocahontas is a tiny, double-pawed calico born in June in a beautiful glen, but not a safe place- the night we rescued her, a coyote was wartching us! She had been fed twice daily her whole life, by a wonderful man who had cared for her mom before she was ever born. His devotion taught Pocahontas to trust people so she arrived indoors already accepting petting and being held. She began to purr with pleasure after only 2 days! Her name means 'frolicsome little girl' and she is learning to play with toys and making her name come true! She loves her bed and her little wicker house, and she is resting up from the cold and the coyote fears. If you'd like to come visit her, you can watch her transform herself into the Princess of your tribe!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pocahontas, a Wakefield Calico cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Calico for sale in Wakefield, or seeking a Calico cat from a breeder in Wakefield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Wakefield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Wakefield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Calico breeders who help with Calico rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Wakefield paves the way for another one to be saved.
