Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Vader is a handsome, sweet, quiet and gentle-natured, ten-year-old, 38-pound, male purebred Border Collie looking for a loving guardian.
Vader is housebroken and crate-trained. (Crate included with his adoption).
Vader loves his person. He bonds strongly and lovingly with his human and gets along with almost every dog he’s met; we don’t know if he’s ever met a cat.
When meeting new people outside the home, he gives kisses, offers you his paw and is a complete gentleman. However, inside the home it is a different story entirely. Surprisingly, this boy springs into action as a incredibly aggressive and protective guard dog while in his own home. It caught everyone off guard including his foster mom, when he started lunging at visitors to his home. Off his own turf, he is an angel. For that reason, he is looking for an all-adult home where his people can keep him safe from his own impulse to guard by keeping him safely crated when anyone comes to “his” home.
When no one else is visiting the home, he happily hangs out on his bed or on the couch watching TV with his person, and chewing on his bully sticks and yak chews.
Vader is a healthy senior with a little arthritis, neutered, de-wormed, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped and he even had a dental. He is heartworm tested and on monthly preventative.
To meet and possibly adopt Vader, please fill out and return the adoption application: http://www.perfectpooches.org/adoption-process.html and follow up by contacting his foster mom Colleen at the Perfect Pooches Adoption Agency, info@perfectpooches.org His adoption fee of $100 (including his crate) benefits the rescued pets of Perfect Pooches. Vader is being fostered in Romeoville, Illinois.
