My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Katie was a barn cat that was taken in with her litter of kittens, her kittens went to rescue and Katie was to return to the her home at the farm, however her foster mom felt her personality was too sweet and docile to take her back. Katie is outgoing and an easy going cat who has no issues with being a house cat. She is about 2 years old. She does not miss her previous life at all! She was born around farm machinery and humans so she is not spooked easy and enjoys the company of humans. She follows her foster mom around the house for attention, taking any pets she can get. She has a quiet meow and a quiet purr. She loves treats and runs to the kitchen if she knows you are in there. She is a bouncy happy-go-lucky cat who loves to play with toys. She loves to curl up on the couch and lay with either her humans or cat friends. She is living with a large dog and although they are not friends she is not scared of him and could live comfortably with any respectful dog. She loves her back end scratched and will let your rub her belly.

Katie is not overly comfortable being picked up and held as we suspect she was not always treated with respect by the farm employees and is bracing herself to be tossed, but she is not aggressive at all. With time we expect she will get better at being held. She does require a scratch post to keep her happy and respectful of furniture. She is clean and uses her litterbox with no issues. She is a cat that likes to jump and be high up on furniture, likely from being at the farm and trying to keep out of the way. She will get into food if you leave it on the counter as her previous life she had to fight for food and scraps to survive.

Katie is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed rescue. Her adoption donation is $165. All of our cats are spayed or neutered,
microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. Please fill out an application at our website
