My name is Sam!

Macaw for adoption in Independence, Kentucky - Sam

I found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.

Sam's Info...

I am in need of an experienced adopter, not good with kids, and good with birds.

Sam's Story...
Sam is a semi aggressive blue and gold macaw. He is most tame for women. Although he is not a biter, I would prefer parrot experienced owners only. He loves to play on the floor and he does speak a few words. He has a very large cage but we leave him on a playstand all day and only put him up at night.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sam, a Independence Macaw was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Macaw for sale in Independence, or seeking a Macaw from a breeder in Independence.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Independence already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Independence breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Macaw breeders who help with Macaw rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Independence paves the way for another one to be saved.
