Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Jamie is a male Maltese/Poodle mix, only 9 1/2 months old. He entered a shelter in Los Angeles as a stray in a neglected condition with a long, matted coat of hair. It was quickly determined that Jamie was blind. Jamie was examined by an eye veterinarian. He told us that Jamie was born without vision and his eyes will not need special care.
Jamie is a sweet and mellow little guy, weighing 6 ½ pounds. He is a bit on the thin side so should gain another pound. Jamie has a soft, curly white coat of hair that is cut short. He is mild mannered, affectionate and friendly. When you call his name, he quickly looks up at you and his tail begins to wag. Jamie snuggles in your arms when you hold him. He would do best with a person at home or working from their home to help with his training and socialization. He likes people and enjoys being close to a person. He is fine with other dogs especially if they do not mind if he bumps into them periodically. Jamie would do well with a calm, friendly small dog, especially if the dog had a bell on his collar to help him maneuver. All Jamie needs is a person with time and a desire to help a little blind dog adapt and enjoy life.
