Ruben's Story...
Ruben is an awesome kitty - so friendly and loving. Loves to talk, loves to cuddle and will lay in your lap forever iHe is a very people-social kitty. Loves everybody. He craves attention and loves to play. Anything can be a toy. Just wad up a piece of paper and throw. But he does like toys that make squeaky noises the best.
He is a very handsome boy - beautiful eyes and thick fur and symmetrical markings as a tabby and white goes. I cannot say enough great things about him.

Ruben is luckier than some. He was rescued while still very healthy. No evidence of anyone looking for him was ever seen. He was not neutered at the time either.

He does not like to be held if you are standing. So we guess whoever took care of him as a kitten did not really pick him up much. But he does love jumping into the nearest lap anytime and making himself at home. So he is a great cuddle-buddy.

He is currently staying at Petsmart in the adoption center if you want to meet him. He will rotate out next week, but will be available to meet at the weekend adoption events.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ruben, a Houston Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Houston, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
