I was found in the middle of the street. When a nice woman stopped to help me I disappeared. When she got home she realized I hitched a ride under her hood. She called APAWS and they rescued me after I had been injured by the fan blade. Part of the muscle on one of my back legs was cut off, what would be a human's hamstring. The vet sewed it up very well and I don't even miss it! I can run and jump like all the other cats. I'm very hesitant of new environments, but I love attention, especially back scratches. If you would like more information on this cat please contact APAWS at info@apawspets.org. If you would like to begin the adoption process and fill out an application please use our online application available here: http://www.apawspets.org/cat_application.html.

About Animal Protection and Welfare Society

About Our Rescue Group...

A.P.A.W.S. (Animal Protection And Welfare Society) is an all volunteer group of people who are dedicated to ensuring that all pet animals in and around the South Louisiana area live in homes which provide for all of the animal's physical and emotional needs (including daily maintenance, medical care and nurturing) for the animal's lifetime.

Some volunteers provide food, shelter and love in their homes to cats and dogs who have been injured, abandoned or thrown away. Others help by transporting the animals to veterinarian appointments, volunteering on Adoption Days, participating in fund raising activities, mailings, publicity efforts and public education. Because we receive no external funding, we rely on fund raising efforts and donations to fund our efforts.
