Shorty's Info...

Shorty's Story...
Shorty is a sweet young dog that does fantastic with other dogs. He loves to play with his people and other pets. He likes cats, but can play a bit hard with cats, so cat siblings need to be able to defend themselves. He does well with people once he is introduced, but he is fearful of new people at first. He warms up very quickly, but is going to do better in an adult home so there are not many new children to be introduced to as friends visit. He is potty trained and he likes to play outside and explore. Shorty is not destructive in any way, but likes to chew on rawhides and throw doggy toys around. Shorty will be a fantastic companion pet with many years of love to give! The adoption fee for dogs is $100 and includes spay/neuter, distemper and rabies vaccinations, deworming, microchip and heartworm testing.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shorty, a Des Moines Dachshund/Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Chihuahua for sale in Des Moines, or seeking a Dachshund/Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Des Moines.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Des Moines already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Des Moines breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Chihuahua breeders who help with Dachshund/Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Des Moines paves the way for another one to be saved.
