Jujubee is a 1.5 year old pure bred Italian Greyhound who weighs in the 10-12 lb range (once she puts on a few pounds she needs to gain). She is all white with a black patch over one eye and ear, and the other eye has a small black circle surrounding it. Her coat is super soft, almost like a rabbit pelt.
Juju is a very sweet girl, and likes to cuddle once she gets to know you. She prefers women over men, but may get over this over time. She immediately settled in to her foster home with the other Italian Greyhounds.
She is a picky eater, so she needs to be given whichever food she prefers to keep weight on her small frame. Her previous owner tried a wide variety of foods to determine what she prefers including both soft and dry. Here are a some of the brands shd didn't like; Natural Balance , Wellness, Before Grain, Natures Recipe, Hills Science Diet, Solid Gold. She did ok eating Beneful, so we will continue trying other foods to see what else she likes. At the foster home she seems to like Blue Buffalo too.
Juju was purchased off of Craig's List by her previous owner, and had a few issues with pottying. That is the primary reason she was surrendered to rescue. She seems to know to do her business outside, and will need put on a schedule to stay focused. She walks decent on a leash, and is willing to potty on a leash too.
Here is some information we received on her from her previous owner:
She is very sweet natured, not aggressive at all. She is very friendly, unfortunately my kids and I are the only ones who get to enjoy that side of her because she is shy around strangers. She is great with children ages 5-9 years. She is very shy with everyone however she is far worse with men. She runs and panics around new people, she will also sit and stare at new people she won't break eye contact. She has never nipped or bit while I have had her.
She is house broken except when she being anxious around new people sometimes and also in her kennel she does pee sometimes. She is crate trained and is quiet in the kennel. She sleeps in the kennel, she also goes in the kennel when we are not home so she stays out of trouble. She does well on car rides too.
She also will get into the trash if given the opportunity.
If we leave her in the backyard while we are in the front yard she panics and yelps until we bring out front with us. When I first got her she did not bark at all, but now she barks when she outside.
