Irish's Story...
Irish is a young, energetic female. She's on the petite side, but makes up for it in energy and personality. She loves to play with other dogs, and was raised with big dogs. At first she was a little intimidated meeting an extra large dog, but she is very smart, learns quickly, and adjusts quickly, too. She is very vocal, and has already learned to alert bark. She is almost completely house trained, but since she is a puppy, she must be monitored to be sure she doesn't regress in her training. She is crate trained and sleeps in a crate. She sits when asked, loves treats and toys, and walks nicely on leash. She also loves to swim. She is interested in playing with the cat, but can be redirected. She needs an active house that will continue her house training and expose her to lots of new things. She loves learning, and meeting new dogs and people.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Irish, a Houston German Shepherd Dog puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Houston, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog puppy from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
