Let's keep a family together! Momma Madrè and Sonja are gorgeous black lab / cattle dog mixes. Momma (white chest) is around 3-5 years old and her daughter, Sonja, is about 9 months old. They each weight approximately 40 pounds. This family, along with brother Pedro, was found in Maumelle and never claimed. They were thin, filthy, and were covered in ticks. After some good bathing and deworming, they are much better off these days. They have been in foster care for about 6 weeks now and Madrè and Sonja were recently put back together. Sonja was a very scared pup when she first came to us and she has proven to us that she is most definitely a mommas girl. Madrè and Sonja get along great with other dogs and they are very people friendly, though Sonja can be shy at first. They both enjoy the outdoors and Sonja enjoys sticking her nose in the dirt. They have both mastered the doggy door as well. These two would make great pets for any family! Please consider adopting them together as Sonja needs her Momma!! Sonja is very codependent and she is very relaxed and does better when her momma is with her. Date of Intake: 3/17/16
Sonja is now located in foster care (3/29) in Maumelle, with her momma, Madre. For more information, please email us at Dogs@Maumellefoa.org. Online adoption applications located at www.maumellefoa.org.
