Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Goldie was not doing well at the shelter and volunteers were worried about her. She was so shy she couldn’t be shown in the adoption ward and was in danger of euthanasia if a rescue group couldn’t take her. At 53 lbs, she was thin for her size and her ribs showed. Who knows what sad life she may have been living?
That was then. In her foster home she has gained several pounds as well as confidence. Now our beautiful golden girl is ready to be introduced to potential adopters.
Goldie is about 3 years old. The shelter called her a Chow/Labrador Retriever, but we decided to do a DNA test. The results show she is actually half German Shepherd, a quarter Boxer and 1/8 each Staffordshire Terrier and Rottweiler. All of those breeds enjoy dog sports, so it's no surprise Goldie can chase and retrieve balls all day until the cows come home! She loves playing ball ! If you want to hone your throwing skills, you will appreciate Goldie’s skill as a fielder. She will bring the ball back – maybe not right back but she will drop it close by, especially when you throw another.
Goldie’s foster dad says she is really getting to be a good dog. After a run with Goldie at the Marina, he reports she does very well on leash. She’s good around other dogs and is currently fostering with three. She seems to be house trained and doesn’t chew things in the house.
