Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi all, my name is Samantha. I just came into sheltie rescue and everyone really loves me here. I just turned eleven years old but I run around with the younger pups with no problem. I prefer the steps with carpet and don’t like those wooden steps, as my paws are slippy. I do have some medical needs and the folks in rescue are following up with my special diet for my food allergies and checking with follow up tests for my Cushings condition. I'm doing very well on my special food and my meds and I'm one happy pup!
I will need a home that is willing to work with my diet and my medication for Cushings. I will need follow up tests from time to time and will need to take my pill every day, and I'm really good about that ! I'm a typical sheltie, and I like to bark, but my voice is tiny like me, I just weigh 13 pounds, and I'm very petite. I have wonderful house manners and so love to be with my people and I'm a wonderful companion and love to sleep on the bed. I also love to go for short walks and do very well on the leash and I will need a fenced in yard, so I can go out to potty and explore on my own. I like exploring the yard and laying out in the sun. I would be best in a home without children, as I'm a small and delinquent. I do fine with other pups and probably wouldn’t mine kitties, as long as they let me have my naps. : ) I'll keep you posted as to my vetting and when I will be ready for my forever home.
