Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Geiger is a very companionable small terrier. We think there might be some Wirehaired Dachs in there of well, of which he is reminiscent. Whatever he is, he is absolutely adorable and a nifty larger small in size :)
He is a terrier boy through and through...larger than life with appreciable vigor, active without being hyper ;) A quintessential big dog in a smaller body, he is pretty much up for anything.
He is confident, fairly unflappable, and really....and we do mean REALLY....affectionate. Almost forcefully so, he is an extrovert at heart and a big time kisser. He's a bit people-centric, but fine with other dogs and gets along with cats as well. Geiger is also very reliable around children and regularly interacts with a six year old and deals well with her impatience.
Pretty much all you could hope for in a pet, although he also an escape artist and a bit of a marker. These are male-stemmed behaviors that may be helped by his neuter, but only time will tell and his adopter will need to take him on with these potential behaviors in mind. He also is less enamored of his crate and will bark in it when separated from his people, but is not much of a guard barker overall.
For these reasons, we don't really recommend you be a first time pet owner or fall short in the sense of humor department, but this is an awesome dog with a lot of personality and style who makes life interesting.
Applications are available on the southpawsexpress.org website or by contacting Lucy at maramuser@gmail.com. His adoption fee is $450.
