Halley's Info...

I am good with kids and good with dogs.

Halley's Story...
Sparky and Halley are a bonded pair of hounds that love each other dearly. They are strays who came to us very scared..after weeks of indivudal work we realized how much they missed one another. Currently we have placed them in a kennel together and Halley has come to life.
When they are together or around other dogs you can truely see how much confidence they both have. They are both still shy when you first approach them but after some kinds words and patience the accept your love.
Ideally we would like them to be adopted as a pair or into a home with another dog. They would be best suited in a home with a fenced in yard or someone who leash walked daily due to their potential flighty behavior at first.
Both Halley and Sparky are up to date on all shots, rabies, spayed/neutered and heartworm negative.
If you are interested in Sparky and/or Halley and have another dog please schedule a meet and greet with them to make sure everyone gets along. You can do so by contacting the shelter at 757-365-6318 or email at animalservices@isleofwightus.net

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Halley, a Windsor Treeing Walker Coonhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Treeing Walker Coonhound for sale in Windsor, or seeking a Treeing Walker Coonhound dog from a breeder in Windsor.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Windsor already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Windsor breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Treeing Walker Coonhound breeders who help with Treeing Walker Coonhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Windsor paves the way for another one to be saved.
