My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jackson is a 3 year old purebred jack russell terrier who was rescued from a rural puppy mill. When the vet picked him up she immediately felt the vibrations from a heart murmur. This little fellow, who is in great health now, has a serious heart murmur and requires a tiny dose of daily medication to prevent heart damage. The vet feels that he will live a fairly normal life with good care. Jackson is underweight at only 8 pounds; he should be closer to 10 but not get overweight. He is active and playful but not at all hyper. He prefers children older than 10 as he wasn't around kids at all in the puppy mill. He is doing very well on his house training and he dislikes being crated since he spent his life in a 3 foot by 3 foot cage except when he was allowed out to do his duty with the girl dogs. Jackson has been neutered, is heartworm negative and on prevention, up to date on shots and worming, and had a complete dental. His adoption fee of $250 does not cover his $280 vet bill. He is in foster care with a non profit, all volunteer 501c3 rescue.
