If BIG Corsos are what you like. Hip may be your man !
This thick mellow lug is 140 lbs and there's not an ounce of fat on him.
Hip's owners lost their home. Their senior Presa passed away and they were forced to give Hip up to one our city's kill shelters.
Hip has been around children and cats. Obviously other dogs, but I've yet to find out if their Presa was male or female and I'm working on getting that information.
He is calm, gentle, sweet, loving. Very thick and heavy boned for the breed. And yes. He is pure bred. Hip is 2 1/2 years old. Neutered, up to date on all vaccines, rabies, and microchipped. Natural ears and one of the thickest natural tails ever. He is a dark chocolate brindle with amber tiger stripes. Hip resembles a Bullmastiff in body type and color but his face is all Corso.
This boy is neutered, housebroken, crate trained (I was told by shelter staff it took three ACT's to get him in a kennel) Now you just leave his crate door open. He walks in and plops down. He's a non-barker. Non destructive. Great eater. Great with my giant females. Have yet to test him with any males. But will if I need to for that special adopter.
I rarely get attached to my rescues. It's taken me years do do that. But it will be sad to see this guy go. He is a specimen in person ! And just as sweet, although his dark coat and amber eyes are a bit intimidating.
Regardless of how sweet Hip has been with me. Only experienced homes will be considered. He is still, and will always be a 140 lb Corso. And that's a serious dog. Prior Neo, Corso, tenacious and or power breed owners will be considered.
The best home for Hip would be with another like-breed/like size female for him to play with. An active owner/family to keep his weight in check and to curb or cull any aggression.
Hip is his real name given by his original owners. That it what he responds to. That's what he knows. And that has to stay the same.

All dogs in our program are up to date on all their shots, dewormed, licensed, spayed or neutered, and micro chipped. Also included is a free health check by our licensed veterinarian. The dogs that come out of our program are very well socialized when they leave, both with people, and other dogs. It is up to the new owners to maintain this. All of our dogs, young and old are crate trained. This gives the new owner a head start for house breaking, and to curb any separation anxiety and or destructive behavior. Most of our dogs are in foster homes and we are able to tell you lots about each of their personalities. We do not place dogs on a first come first serve basis, but rather to the home best suited for them. An adoption fee, application, and contract are required.
