Facts about Mickey

  • Breed: Hound (Unknown Type)/Boxer Mix
  • Color: Brown/Chocolate
  • Age: Puppy
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Male
He's the leader of the pack and was born for you to see! Mickey is not only named after the most famous Disney character, he is a very lucky Hound/Boxer Mix puppy. Mickey was surrendered to a local shelter because he tested positive for parvo. Parvo is a very contagious and deadly, but we knew we had to help this little guy and give him a chance at survival. We rescued Mickey from the shelter and rushed him immediately to the vet. Our skilled veterinarian hospitalized him and treated him to a full recovery. Mickey is now vaccinated, neutered, microchipped and looking for a new forever home to star at. He is full of energy like all puppies, so Mickey requests a friend who will help him grow into a distinguished and smart adult dog. Mickey is learning to walk on a leash, loves to play and chew on toys and never meets a stranger. He does well with other dogs. Puppies take a lot of time and will put some constraints on your schedule, but a well behaved adult dog is the ultimate payout! If you can give Mickey everything he needs and more, please submit an application at ITVrescue.org. He is ready to be your only friend or join other furry paws for the journey ahead.

About It Takes A Village Canine Rescue, Inc.

About Our Rescue Group...

It Takes A Village Canine Rescue, Inc. is a non-kill 501(c)(3) dog rescue dedicated to doing what it takes to find loving homes for stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals, and to keep these animals safe and free from further suffering. Our mission is "To work as one in helping homeless dogs irrespective of breed, location or circumstance." By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, local veterinarians, animal control, trainers, and boarding facilities, we are able to rescue countless animals every year and provide them with loving temporary care as we work to find them well-matched forever homes. Although we do not discriminate based on breed, size or color, we have a particular interest in bully breeds, black dogs and other hard-to-place dogs.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We are generally at Petsmart on Burkhart every Sunday and have adoption events at various locations throughout the year.

Our Adoption Process...

We require all adopters to complete an application and pay an adoption fee. Adoption fees vary, but are usually $150 to $175. We may do a vet reference check and/or home visit.
