Facts about Mickey

  • Breed: Hound (Unknown Type)/Boxer Mix
  • Color: Brown/Chocolate
  • Age: Puppy
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Male
He's the leader of the pack and was born for you to see! Mickey is not only named after the most famous Disney character, he is a very lucky Hound/Boxer Mix. Mickey is a higher energy dog who will do best in an active home. But, he does not know a stranger and he is a very friendly guy. Mickey is vaccinated, neutered, microchipped and looking for a forever home. Mickey is learning to walk on a leash, loves to play and chew on toys. He does well with other dogs. Mickey was rescued from the local animal control where he was surrendered after he was diagnosed with a puppy disease. We rescued Mickey from the shelter and rushed him immediately to the vet. Our skilled veterinarian hospitalized him and treated him to a full recovery. Mickey is now full of life and ready for someone to give him his happily ever after. He is about 1.5 years old as of January 2017 and weighs about 50 pounds. He is working on basic commands such as sit. Mickey has long legs which would make him great for an active walker or runner. If you can give Mickey everything he needs and more, please submit an application at ITVrescue.org. Mickey is sponsored so his adoption fee is waived.

About It Takes A Village Canine Rescue, Inc.

About Our Rescue Group...

It Takes A Village Canine Rescue, Inc. is a non-kill 501(c)(3) dog rescue dedicated to doing what it takes to find loving homes for stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals, and to keep these animals safe and free from further suffering. Our mission is "To work as one in helping homeless dogs irrespective of breed, location or circumstance." By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, local veterinarians, animal control, trainers, and boarding facilities, we are able to rescue countless animals every year and provide them with loving temporary care as we work to find them well-matched forever homes. Although we do not discriminate based on breed, size or color, we have a particular interest in bully breeds, black dogs and other hard-to-place dogs.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We are generally at Petsmart on Burkhart every Sunday and have adoption events at various locations throughout the year.

Our Adoption Process...

We require all adopters to complete an application and pay an adoption fee. Adoption fees vary, but are usually $150 to $175. We may do a vet reference check and/or home visit.
