Meet Scruffy. He is a 13 year old terrier mix. For his age he is very energetic. He loves to play fetch with his tennis ball and go on walks. He has a little bit of arthritis but you can only tell on his bad days when it flares up, and he takes medication so he is more comfortable. Prior to coming to us, Scruffy had not been to the veterinarian for several years and he is very sensitive to being touched. It is important for his adopter to be aware of this and have lots of patience. He will invite you to be touched; however he does show affection in other ways. He looks at you very lovingly when he is excited, he brings you the ball when he wants to play fetch, and he wags his tail and runs around when he knows he is going to get a treat! Other than his touch sensitivity he acts like a normal happy dog. He follows his foster dad around the house, constantly looking for attention. He loves surprises, whether it is a quick walk around the block or an unexpected milk bone, he is always very appreciative.
As his name suggests, Scruffy sports a messy hipster-like hair do. We have tried to talk him into a more clean cut look but he seems to like it the way it is! Scruffy would not do well in a home with other kids. He does not play much with other dogs but appreciates their company. He has a few good years left and would like to retire in a home where he is comfortable and drama free. Scruffy's foster dad would be happy to answer any questions about him.
Scruffy is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccinations. He has also tested negative for heartworm disease. His adoption fee is $85.00 plus sales tax.
