My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Timmy and I am 22 yr young cockatiel. Don't let my age fool you, though, I am quite feisty and vocal. I love to chirp, whistle and chatter to anyone and anything that will listen to me. I especially love to sit by the window and look out into the yard, you never know what you might see out there! I'm a happy guy and I like to greet the mornings with a cheerful whistle that will put a smile on your face. My foster mom thinks I might be trying to say "how you doing?" or "what are you doing?" and she thinks it's so cute when I start talking to the tags on the towels and the little toy I have in my cage.

My foster family is currently transitioning me to a pellet diet and I already love almonds and nutriberries. Matter of fact, I will eat those tasty yummies right off your hand!

I am a little timid at first, but I will warm up to you eventually and step up on your hand or arm. Sometimes I will even fly to your shoulder and let you walk around the house with me riding up there. FPR believes that it is dangerous to keep a companion bird flighted and strongly advises parronts to keep their FID's (feathered kid's) wings clipped, however, in my case, because I've been fully flighted all my life and I use my wings to help me balance when I get winded, the vet recommends I stay flighted.
