Just look at that smile on handsome Odie!! Odie is a 2-year old Shepherd Mix. We saw this gold colored guy at our local animal control. He so badly wanted to be saved, we couldn't leave him behind. Odie immediately wrapped his front paws around us and thanked us. It was truly a rewarding rescue. Odie had his freedom ride from animal control and popped his head up to watch the scenery as he knew he had hit the jackpot. Odie is a medium-sized dog weighing in at 53.5 pounds. Odie is working hard on learning the rules of his environment. We are proud to report that he is making great strides of improvement each and everyday. Odie is super lovable, leash trained and will keep his kennel clean when kept on a routine. He shares a kennel with another dog and does well with her. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm tested. Odie is a higher energy dog so would be great with someone who enjoys an active lifestyle. Odie has been cat-tested and appears to do well with them. If you want this guy to put a bounce in your step then please complete an online application at ITVRescue.org. Please come on by and meet Odie now!

About It Takes A Village Canine Rescue, Inc.

About Our Rescue Group...

It Takes A Village Canine Rescue, Inc. is a non-kill 501(c)(3) dog rescue dedicated to doing what it takes to find loving homes for stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals, and to keep these animals safe and free from further suffering. Our mission is "To work as one in helping homeless dogs irrespective of breed, location or circumstance." By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, local veterinarians, animal control, trainers, and boarding facilities, we are able to rescue countless animals every year and provide them with loving temporary care as we work to find them well-matched forever homes. Although we do not discriminate based on breed, size or color, we have a particular interest in bully breeds, black dogs and other hard-to-place dogs.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We are generally at Petsmart on Burkhart every Sunday and have adoption events at various locations throughout the year.

Our Adoption Process...

We require all adopters to complete an application and pay an adoption fee. Adoption fees vary, but are usually $150 to $175. We may do a vet reference check and/or home visit.
