Here's what the humans have to say about me:
IDGSR welcomes River into the safety of the rescue!!!
River is a female German Shepherd who is 1 & 1/2 years old. The area where she came from is along the Catawba River in South Carolina so the name "River" seems to fit her. River had a rough start in her young life. A family got her at 3 months old and kept her outside in a small fenced area that was all dirt and mud when it rained. She received no attention and was not fed or given water on a regular basis. Since she has come to rescue, her foster mom reports that she is happy and has gained weight. River is now 70 lbs. and has a beautiful fluffy coat. Her foster mom and dad are working on giving her new experiences: introducing her to other dogs, playing with toys, getting her used to being in the car, all things she has never done before. They are also working with River on learning commands and leash walking. River is too interested in cats so no cats in her new home. River is blossoming into a friendly and loving dog and will be ready soon for her new family.
