My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

With her big brown eyes and crooked underbite, Aki will steal your heart as soon as you meet her! This 2-year-old has been hanging out in an office with a PAWS staff member and has quickly become a staff and volunteer favorite. Aki loves people and her tail wags a mile a minute as soon as she spots a new friend! She looks like a Shepherd mix but is only about 25 pounds.

Aki came to PAWS from a rural area, where she may not have been cared for properly. Aki likes being petted, but she can be shy, and cowers if approached too quickly. She enjoys being spoken to softly, and will gently lay her head in your lap for ear scratches. Aki sits on command and walks nicely on a leash in quiet areas. A busy city environment is new to her, so sometimes she gets scared around a lot of traffic. A house with a yard or a quiet neighborhood would be perfect for Aki. She is crate-trained and seems to really love having a soft bed to nap in. She has the cutest habit of burying treats under her blankets!

Despite all that she has been through, Aki is such a kind and gentle soul. She truly deserves a forever home where she will be happy and loved. Because she can be timid, a quiet home with just adults would be ideal for her. She would love to enroll in training classes to build her confidence and bond with her new guardians.
