Confetti is an energetic,1 year old pitbull mix that originally came to us from an inner city pound. While Confetti has had the benefit of recently spending some time in a home, we've gotten a better idea of what type of home may suit her needs best. Confetti is a very smart pup, but due to being separated from her Mom and littermates at an extremely young age (we first met Confetti when she was barely a couple of months old!), she more than likely missed out on some of their social cues and is now learning how to properly behave in social situations. Confetti would love to find a family that has some experience with pups such as herself so that she doesn't have to figure out this whole business of growing up as a proper young lady alone. Someone who can teach her some basic skills so that she understands what is expected and appropriate in different scenarios, and someone who allows her an outlet for playtime as well (every pup needs a little time to have some fun!). She does enjoy the company of other dogs (mainly the boys, lol) although they can be a bit overwhelming and scary to her at first so she doesn't always know how to handle it well. Some more exposure and help from her humans to build her confidence may do the trick. Confetti is going to be a great companion for a family that enjoys a smart and active girl!

About Ramapo Bergen Animal Refuge, Inc.

About Our Shelter...

Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge, Inc. is founded on the belief that all animals have a natural right to humane treatment including proper care and safe shelter. Due to overpopulation, there are insufficient homes for most cats and dogs. Some are lucky enough to find temporary shelter and a few even find permanent homes. However it is a devastating fact that the majority are either euthanized or forced to chance life without shelter.

To support our belief and to relieve the unnecessary suffering of animals, we shall:
1.Extend every effort to find, evaluate, and secure good adoptive homes for animals in our care.
2.Provide animals with medical services and behavior therapy to the extent of our ability.
3.Adhere to a “no-kill” policy: animals shall not be euthanized for the purpose of providing space for new animals.
4.Adhere to a 100% spay and neuter policy.
5.Maintain continuing humane education programs and in particular to schools.
