Felix's Story...
Felix is a 3 year-old Staffordshire Terrier mix with lots of love to give! He’s a big dog, with a big heart, who wants nothing more than to please his people. He enjoys being surrounded by his toys and chew bones, and is perfectly content to lay at your feet or snuggle with you on the couch. He is house trained, but may have an accident or two while he is adjusting to his new environment. He is a quick learner though! He does not tolerate being crated, but is non-destructive when left alone, and will patiently wait for you to return home to give him belly rubs. He loves going on walks and does great on a leash. He also likes to run, so a fenced in backyard to play in would be great! He is a very strong boy though and sometimes forgets how big he is; he can get a little hyper and wiggly and accidentally bump into things—so a home without small children would be best. He does well with most other dogs after a proper, slow introduction. He has lived in a foster home with a cat, but he can be a bit curious around them and overly excited because he wants to play. This handsome pup deserves a peaceful, loving home. Do you have room in your home and heart for this big guy? Contact HSAC today for more information!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Felix, a Burlington American Staffordshire Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Staffordshire Terrier for sale in Burlington, or seeking a American Staffordshire Terrier dog from a breeder in Burlington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Burlington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Burlington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Staffordshire Terrier breeders who help with American Staffordshire Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Burlington paves the way for another one to be saved.
