My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Artie has a heartbreaking tale of a dog who needed a rescue immediately. Artie was living on a property with 2 other dogs. A female & a male GSD. He got along well with the female and even slept in a wooden box, in a yard filled with trash, with her. The male was sectioned off in another part of the yard but kept climbing the fence and brutally attacking poor Artie. He hurt him so badly that he is now blind in one eye and has massive facial scarring. We were contacted by local SPCA after we offered to take him into the rescue and get him the necessary vet care he needed. The GSD’s were not released but we were asked to take Artie in and we obliged. And what a good move that was. Artie is approximately 4 years old. He has seen our veterinarian and gotten a lot of love, TLC, all necessary vaccinations, he is heartworm and Lyme negative, will be neutered & microchipped this week, thanks to a fabulous grant from HarnessLife.org, and is seeing an eye specialist to determine if he can keep his eye or not. He is in a foster home today doing very well. He is a big sweetheart, loves everyone and to be snuggled, and he is even currently living with a cat. He does seem to like female dogs, but as anticipated, is not very happy with other male dogs. We don’t really blame him for it. Artie’s adoption fee is $300.
