Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Blaze's adoption fee is $375.
My name is Blaze. My foster mom thinks I was given that name as I can run like a blaze of lightning! For a dog with short legs, I can run really fast, and love it! When you say that magical 4-letter word WALK, you’ll never see a more excited dog!!!! I really love going for walks, and have lots of energy to walk long distances, although I continue to need some work at learning how to walk on a leash. I like to run and show off my speed, so feel free to run with me or throw me a ball and I will chase it and bring it back to you! (most of the time....) I sometimes run around the house and under the beds, my foster family think that is hilarious! I would really love to have a home with a fenced yard so that I can race around and burn off some energy.
I am a two year old Poodle/Shih Tzu/Schnauzer mix, and I weigh about 11 pounds. I am a neutered male, am micro chipped and all my shots are up to date. As you can see from my pictures, I am cute as a button!
I still have many puppy-like characteristics, but am house-trained, although sometimes piddle a little bit when I am nervous or excited. I did have a couple of accidents in my foster home, but foster mom thinks it has to do with the new environment, and doesn't think it will be a regular problem.
Now, being a little guy, I find most new things scary, and sadly I wasn’t provided with proper socialization in my previous home. When it comes to meeting new friends, (humans and dogs), or new experiences, I am uncertain at first, and will bark at them....a lot! I find adult men pretty scary, even when they are being nice to me. I guess I am what you call a ladies’ man! I have a loud and deep bark, so would not be suitable to living in a shared housing situation (condo or apartment). I am hoping my new owners will be patient with me and help me feel safe and comfortable around people and new or strange noises – it will take some time for this to happen.
I am looking for an active home with owners who will be patient with me while I learn to adjust to my new life and who are willing to work with me on my socialization skills too...maybe work with a trainer to help me. I would also love some older kids or a gentle, playful dog to have fun with (I play a lot with the dogs in my foster home). I have lots of energy and love to play !!!
