Fergie's Story...
Fergalicious definition: make them boys go loco! Our resident Fergie measures right up to that definition - with her luscious fur and her rolly-polly body, this lovable lady can make even the sternest heart melt! This three year old light orange tabby girl came to ACL from a local animal control where she had arrived as a stray. Female orange tabbies are pretty rare, and Fergie knows how to make the most of her special status - she's purrfect! She likes being held, cuddled, and pet, and she also loves to explore. She's a big gal who has all the easygoing, tolerant behavior typical of orange kitties. Our Fergie will be an excellent family pet with children of all ages and temperaments - she can adjust to most anything! She's good with other cats who match her vibe, and she's well-suited to introduce to a cat-savvy canine.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Fergie, a Oak Park Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Oak Park, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Oak Park.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oak Park already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oak Park breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oak Park paves the way for another one to be saved.
