Maggie in McAllen's Story...
In December 2013, I found a cold, sad, scared, and wet JRT/beagle mix wearing a Christmas sweater weaving through traffic. After about 45 minutes, I was able to get her to trust me enough to get her in my car and out of the rain. She was covered in fleas and ticks and her Christmas sweater was cutting into her skin. We named her Maggie.
After searching for months for her owner to no avail, we started looking for the right home for her. She was a nervous pee-er, would not walk outside unless she had a clear pathway to the back yard door with no one around, and she was even scared of her own shadow! We knew we couldn't let her go to just any family.
Finally, after much patience, time with our other dogs, along with personal care and love, we were able to get her to come out of her shell! She no longer pees nervously, she is good around other people, and is the cutest baby in the world! She is ready for her forever family! After two years with Maggie, I have seen her personality shine through and she just wants to love and be loved!
Maggie is about 3-4 years old and weighs about 25-30 lbs. She is spayed, heartworm negative, and current on all vaccinations. Sweet Maggie will do best in a home with male dogs only, no cats, and kids over 12 only. Home visit and vet check is mandatory. For more information, please contact Yvette at Yvette.email@example.com.
