Dudley's Story...
Dudley and his littermates are 10 week old pups in our "PADDLE Program". The PADDLE Program (Prisoners And Dogs Developing Life Experiences) is a program where female trustees care for puppies in our local jail while the pups complete their vetting and until they go to their forever homes. The dogs who have come through this program are getting rave reviews from their adoptive families. The trustees work with the puppies on basic manners and train them to puppy pads (we use pads because they do not have constant access to an outside area). If you'd like to add one of these pups to your family please visit our website at www.goofyfootrescue.org and fill out our online application. These pups are "in jail" in West TN and will be transported once their adoption is finalized

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dudley, a Southington Golden Retriever/Corgi puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever/Corgi for sale in Southington, or seeking a Golden Retriever/Corgi puppy from a breeder in Southington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Southington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Southington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever/Corgi breeders who help with Golden Retriever/Corgi rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Southington paves the way for another one to be saved.
