My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Boxer / American Bulldog Mix ("Bulloxer")
Age: Adult
Male, neutered
70 lbs

Adoption Fee: Donation (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations)

Rocky is a Boxer / American Bulldog mix ("Bulloxer") with a docked tail. He was originally pulled from the Antioch shelter almost 2 and half years ago. He was scheduled to be euthanized, due to medical issues. Rocky was in a wire crate on the back of a pick-up truck going down the highway, when the crate fell of the truck. The driver didn't stop (probably didn't even know what happened to the crate?) and the car following had to swerve to miss hitting the crate. The car stopped and called the highway patrol. Rocky was very bruised and battered from the accident, but miraculously no serious injuries. He also had a bad case of demodex (mange). The shelter thought he injured his hip because of the way he walked. I pointed out to them that Rocky was a boxer and his gait is wiggly like all boxers. While in foster care his demodex was successfully treated and he was eventually got adopted. He is very sweet dog (aren't all boxers?). He got along very well with all the dogs at his foster home, but the owner that originally adopted him says he can be dog reactive to strange dogs his size that he doesn't know (dog parks and meeting up with unfamiliar dogs should be approached with caution). But as with all bully breeds, a confident experienced owner rarely has issues with their dogs. His current owner needs to give him up, and our rescue group is currently, but we want to see him in a good home. He is about 4 years old, weighs about 70 lbs.

He is neutered, microchipped, and current on all vaccines. He can be rambunctious so we recommend older kids. No experience with cats.
