Duke's Story...
This pet is in a foster home in San Antonio, TX and can fly to an approved adopter in the US and Canada. The fee is $550** and that covers the $125 tax deductible adoption fee.

Hello everyone! My name is Duke and I am a 2-year-old German Shepherd. I was in a foster home but I wasn't always fond of other male dogs so now I am back in boarding waiting for my forever person to come and rescue me. I need a home where I am the only pet or with submissive large to medium sized female dog. I also need an owner who will train me and has experience with German Shepherds. I am very playful and active. Like all German Shepherds, I am loyal and devoted and love to be by my owner’s side. I am a very intelligent boy and I have a beautiful black coat. I would like a forever person who will continue my training and socialization and someone who enjoys the outdoors as much as I do. Someone who likes hiking, walking, and camping….any fun outdoor activity. Are you looking for an amazing companion that wants nothing more than to be by your side? Look no further! Here I am!

Please apply to adopt here: and CARE will be in touch with you ASAP!

This dog was rescued from a kill shelter or the streets and has been evaluated for medical and temperament to prepare for a forever home and is in a foster home in San Antonio, Texas* and is ready to fly to its final destination once adopted. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Duke, a New York German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in New York, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in New York.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in New York already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a New York breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in New York paves the way for another one to be saved.
