Facts about Pumpkin

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Brown Tabby
  • Age: Young
  • Sex: Male
  • ID#: 0315100
  • Hair: Short
Pumpkin is a sweet, affectionate male tabby. He is gentle, loves to play, and seeks a cuddle buddy person. Our little fellow had a shaved spot on his head due to treatment for a head wound. For a while, he was sporting a reverse Mohawk. The wound is healed, and we’re looking for an indoor only home. He is dubbed Pumpkin because of the beautiful orange fur mixed with the grey and brown tabby colors. He’s been through a TNR clinic at some time in his life too. He has an ear-tip.

This guy is ready to be safe, secure, and loved. He needs an owner willing to take the time to make sure he adjusts to a new home and doesn’t get out, please. Curiosity is his middle name. He loves people, attention, lap sitting, and playing with feathers–like da’ bird. Can you love a boy with a few scars from life on the street and twinkling almond-shaped eyes? If so, Pumpkin wants to meet you.

He gets along with the other cats living here and our small dog. We can't answer to how he is around children. We have not had any children around him, and we don't have any other information about him. He’s active and curious all the time--watch those cupboard doors! He likes to go exploring. Pumpkin has lots of energy for playing and entertaining you too. We know he’d be really happy in a home where he is the only cat and gets all the attention, but he’ll share too. Like all pets, you just need to take time to do proper introductions.

Pumpkin is an adult, neutered male, combo tested negative/negative.

Please contact us to arrange a time to meet Pumpkin. We are located in NE Austin, Texas. Did we also mention he comes with free pet insurance for 30-days? When you adopt Pumpkin, you can relax and get to know each other without worrying if something unexpected happens.

About Catnip Casa Cat Refuge

About Our Rescue Group...

Our goal is to get any pet that comes to us in need of a home into a loving home. We don't handle large volumes of animals. We handle those that would not be adoptable in shelters. Many of our animals need medical care or rehabilitation due to injury or disease. We will work with special needs adopters and also offer foster-to-adopt for special situations.

A few animals will not become adoptable. We are 100% no kill. They will remain in pawspice here. Our goal is to find that special home for every cat or dog that comes to us in need.

The Love & Cuddles Pet Respite Care program is intended to keep pets out of shelters and allow them to return home after an owner has been hospitalized and is well. Sometimes that doesn't happen and the pet must be adopted into another loving home.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We are foster home based, and all pets are in foster homes. It is our pleasure to set up an appointment for you to meet any animal that is up or adoption or in need of foster care.

Our Adoption Process...

The first step is to contact us and arrange to meet the kitty you want to adopt.

If all goes well and you want to proceed, Catnip Casa Cat Refuge will email or mail an adoption application, or you can fill out an application while you are here. Don’t worry, it’s short and simple!

Hopefully, you can also come visit your kitty again to get to know each other and insure a good fit. You are welcome to visit him/her several times before deciding.

After the application is approved, we deliver your kitty, along with medical records, our adoption discount and benefits package, and any other information you will need. Then, we both sign a simple one page adoption agreement.

Our adoption process includes follow-up support for up to six-months, more for special needs adoptions. We charge a $35 adoption fee. Of course, additional donations are welcome.
