Bixby's Story...

Bixby was taken in by ARF as an owner surrender on March 30, 2016.  The owner complained that this dog wouldn't stay home while he was at work and took his other dogs off the property.  The property was not fenced, and our experience is that dogs do not recognize property lines!  Bixby seems fearful and anxious, like he has been mistreated at some point.  The owner said that he was with another owner for a year and returned, so who knows what has made him feel insecure or when it happened. He has not been housetrained, not been leash trained, not been properly socialized.  And yet he is a beautiful boy who is not aggressive, but anxious.  Bixby is about 2 years old and 60 pounds. He has not been on the scales for an exact weight until he settles in a bit.  We are so glad that Bixby is with us now, for he will receive attention and love and we will do our best to see that he is made to feel secure and never be mistreated again.  Bixby needs a forever home and family that will show patience and understanding as he learns how good life can be!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bixby, a Ripley Airedale Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Airedale Terrier for sale in Ripley, or seeking a Airedale Terrier dog from a breeder in Ripley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ripley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ripley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Airedale Terrier breeders who help with Airedale Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ripley paves the way for another one to be saved.
