My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bixby was taken in by ARF as an owner surrender on March 30, 2016.  The owner complained that this dog wouldn't stay home while he was at work and took his other dogs off the property.  The property was not fenced, and our experience is that dogs do not recognize property lines!  Bixby seems fearful and anxious, like he has been mistreated at some point.  The owner said that he was with another owner for a year and returned, so who knows what has made him feel insecure or when it happened. He has not been housetrained, not been leash trained, not been properly socialized.  And yet he is a beautiful boy who is not aggressive, but anxious.  Bixby is about 2 years old and 60 pounds. He has not been on the scales for an exact weight until he settles in a bit.  We are so glad that Bixby is with us now, for he will receive attention and love and we will do our best to see that he is made to feel secure and never be mistreated again.  Bixby needs a forever home and family that will show patience and understanding as he learns how good life can be!
