Ellie's Story...
Sweet Ellie was rescued during our Trap/Neuter/Release campaign in Calera during the month of December. It was originally intended for her to be a barn cat, but we quickly learned she would rather be a pampered princess! She's very special. She loves to spend her days indoors atop her perch, watching the birds play outside the window. She also enjoys playing with her toy mice. Ellie loves to have her belly rubbed like a dog. She does not play rough. Ellie is estimated to be 7-8 months old, spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, microchipped, and negative for all infectious diseases. She is a grey tabby with light striping and a soft beige undertones. She is not declawed. She has shown fear of dogs and her foster home has cat aggressive dogs so she has not lived in the same area with the dogs. If you're ready for your lap to be this girl's throne, please email Application, adoption fee, and brief home visit required to adopt Ellie. Or text 256x665x6104

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ellie, a Alabaster American Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Shorthair for sale in Alabaster, or seeking a American Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Alabaster.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Alabaster already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Alabaster breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Shorthair breeders who help with American Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Alabaster paves the way for another one to be saved.
