Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Say hello to Mr. Willis! This sweet senior man was sprung from a kill shelter on his last day. He was picked up wandering as a stray and no one came to claim him. The vet estimates Willis to be about 10 years old but he's got a lot of life left in him. We want to find him THE BEST retirement home! Willis LOVES to play with his pink stuffed bear. He will play fetch with you! He is cuddly and likes to be in your lap and nuzzle your face too. Willis is wee wee pad trained and his new family will need to be patient while he learns their new routine. He will use the bathroom outdoors if you go outside with him. He sleeps in his doggy bed but would be happy cuddling with his new family in bed too as long as it wasn't too high off the ground. (Dachsunds have short legs :) When Willis came into the rescue he had some pretty dry skin and hair loss due to fleas but he's doing great now. We had an extensive vet exam done due to him being a senior. His bloodwork checked out great and so did his xray to check his heart and an ultrasound to check for bladder stones. All good! We even had a dental done and he had a couple teeth pulled so now he's ready to go to his forever family! Willis is ok with cats and dogs for the most part but he does get bossy over food with male dogs. If you are a dachshund lover and familiar with the breed please contact us with an application. His foster mom would love to talk with you! Please, you MUST click the following link BEFORE emailing for further information.
