My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 4 years
Gender: Male
Color: Black & White
Weight: 50 lbs
Variety: Field

Meet handsome Scout! He is a happy, easygoing guy who loves to climb into your lap for quality snuggle time. Scout relishes receiving attention and affection. He is confident, loving, and eager to please!

This tall, strong Springer can run fast and chase squirrels all day. In addition to playing in the backyard, Scout loves to swim and splash around in the local pond. He would be a great running or swimming companion for his Forever Family, and he would also enjoy frequent trips to the dog park to stretch his long legs and run like the wind.

Scout's foster home includes two resident Springers, and Scout gets along great with them. His former owners reported that he lived peacefully with cats. Due to his size and energy level, Scout's foster parents would like him to be placed in a Forever Home in which any children are older and dog savvy.

Scout knows many basic commands and has great recall. He is housetrained and has excellent house manners. Therefore, he has the privilege of free rein in his foster home when the people are away. When he isn't napping, Scout can be found lying at the window, watching the squirrels, birds, and rivers. He does not care for bikes or cars, and he will bark at them. This behavior will provide a great opportunity for his Forever Family to work with Scout and help him to understand that he doesn't have to be protective of his family when he sees bicycles, cars, etc.

This fine boy is looking for a Forever Family to welcome him with warm and loving arms. Are you searching for a companion who is a real snuggler and a totally loving friend? If so, contact his case managers right away!

Please note that an approved adoption application is the first step in a more thorough interview process that is designed to match each dog to exactly the right family, and that the final decision rests with the dog's case manager.

Please read the Adoption FAQ and get an Adoption Application approved before inquiring about Scout.
