Facts about Pilgrim

  • Breed: Shar Pei/Hound (Unknown Type) Mix
  • Color: Brown/Chocolate - With Tan
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Male
Pilgrim came from the local shelter that was heartworm positive and at that time didn't stand a chance to make it out because the small shelter was not equipped to treat heartworms. He was treated and is now Heartworm negative and on tick and heartworm preventative. Pilgrim is a funny little guy, that has his own little personality and quirks. He is not a big snuggler, but likes to follow you around and loves being with people. He was one of the shelter's favorites, and we felt like we couldn't let him down. About Happy Chance's Animal Friends

About Our Rescue Group...

Happy Chance's Animal Friends was started in August of 2014. We are a non profit organization that was started due to a strong need in our area to promote, assist, and advocate for the dogs in our local shelters. We also work in in the community with other animal advocacy groups to help animals in need and assist owners and their pets. We truly believe that "happy lives can be found in second chances".

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our dogs are fostered in the private homes of individuals. We do not have a designated facility. We are at Petsense in Mebane monthly. The schedule is posted on our Facebook page.. Follow us on Facebook for other adoption events and to see updates.

Our Adoption Process...

We require an adoption application where we ask for a vet reference (If the potential adopter is currently a pet owner.), two additional references, and we require a home visit. We also ask that renters or homeowners living where there are HOA requirements, check first before considering adoption; especially if it is a bully breed. We have an adoption contract that is signed at the time of adoption.
Our fees are as follows:
Puppies-$200
Dogs between the ages of 1 and 5 years-$150
Dogs over 5 years-$100
