Woody's Story...
Woody also affectionately called "Woodchip" is an easy going, big, handsome smooth haired 1 year old Dachshund pup. This darling youngster is pretty much fully house trained. Woody is crate trained, puppy pad trained and needs work on leash training. Woody loves playing with other dogs about his size, especially tug and chase! He is also very affectionate and loves to snuggle.

Woody's forever home will have a securely fenced yard (no apartment living), no children under the age of 9 years, another younger dog playmate and a guardian that is active and loves to play with his or her companion dogs. He is not available to a home where he would be crated or alone the majority of the day. Woody has not been cat tested.

We do not schedule meet-n-greets/home visits for our rescue dachshunds without a completed adoption application. The adoption application can be filled out online at Woody's adoption fee is $250.00. All of our rescue dachshunds are fully vetted before adoption. Woody is available for adoption in Colorado only.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Woody, a Louisville Dachshund puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Louisville, or seeking a Dachshund puppy from a breeder in Louisville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Louisville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Louisville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Louisville paves the way for another one to be saved.
