Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Breed : Sophie is actually a Sapsali, native Korean dog that has a long, shaggy coat. Just like the Korean Jindo dog, Sapsali was designated as a National Treasure (No.368) in 1992 by the Korean Government. Since this breed is listed on this website, we categorized her as Wheaten Terrier which resembles Sapsali the most.
Weight: 40 lbs
Age: 1 year and 6 months
Personality: Sophie is very friendly and sweet. She is affectionate with people and plays well with dogs in all sizes. She is also playful and smart.
Coat: Sophie is currently shaved down and her coat will grow long. The distinguishing characteristic of the Sapsali breed is its long shaggy coat . The Sapsaree typically has long hair that falls over its eyes, much like the Old English Sheepdog. Because this breed has such a long coat, regular brushing and grooming is required to keep shedding to a minimum and to preserve the health of the coat.
Training: Sophie is learning basic commands. Sophie is very smart which means that it is likely to respond well to training.
Potty trained: She goes potty outside a few times a day.
Health: She is healthy with no heartworms, ear infection or skin issues.
History: Sophie lived most of her life outdoor in South Korea and her uncaring owner was going to sell her after using her for breeding! Fortunately that didn't happen as she was rescued just in time.
Fostered in: La Mirada, CA (Local Applicants only please)
Type of home: Sophie will need daily exercise (not just in the backyard), positive method training classes and plenty of attention from her new family. She is very friendly with both people and dogs.
Crate trained: Yes
Good with Dogs: Yes
Good with Kids: Unknown
Good with Cats: Unknown
Adoption fee (non-refundable): $ 500
All dogs are fully vetted, tested for heartworm, microchipped, and up to date with vaccinations.
