Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Riley – male, neutered, vaccinated including Rabies, Heartworm tested (-), dewormed, tx Flea Preventative, approx 75-80lbs, 2yrs, Golden Retriever/Yellow Lab.
Riley was a sweet boy that was dumped at a remote pound, most likely due to the fact that he had eye entropion in both eyes. This condition causes his droopy eye lids to curl in and cause irritation to the eyes; it can cause scratching, infection and eventually lead to premature blindness if left on treated. Riley is super lucky that the entropion has been corrected in both eyes at such a young age, he is recovering remarkably from his surgery and will have no lasting side effects, this condition will not reoccur. He is now ready for his new Forever Home. He is house trained and crate trained but may need a house breaking refresher due to his stay at the pound, he has been good in his foster home thus far. He has the typical Golden traits – loves everyone – two and four legged and he is eager for everyone to love him back. He is good with other dogs (he currently resides with small and large dogs); he is fine with cats and would likely be fine with respectful children of any age. He is a super sweet big loveable teddy bear who is just thrilled to have anyone fawn all over him with attention. He doesn’t mind being brushed and fussed over (what Golden minds??), he walks nicely on a leash once he has settled in to his walk and he knows some commands. He could probably be a great therapy dog with a little more obedience training and a little time to settle in to a Forever Home lifestyle. He would also be just as great as a loved family companion. He is best suited to a house with a yard due to his size. Those in apartments=condos with previous large breed experience may be considered.
For those interested in Riley’s previous condition that has successfully been corrected!
