Gidget's Story...
Gidget is a senior cat that bonds more with people and dogs than other cats. We don't know what breed of cat she is, a Bombay mix perhaps. She's large and with short to medium-length black fur. As dog rescuers, all we know is this cat needed our help when her family could no longer keep her. She was born in 2006. Very affectionate with people after she feels safe and once Gidget bonds with a person, she always wants to kiss them and snuggle in their laps. She really likes her belly rubbed. Gidget has an independent nature and as an older lady, she knows what she wants. Seeking a forever home that offers a calm environment with no children younger than 12 and no other cats. She just wants someone to love her and let her age with grace. A comfy bed by a window to sunbathe sounds nice too.
Gidget is spayed, always uses her litterbox, current on routine vaccines, feline leukemia and heartworm negative, and will be microchipped prior to adoption. To learn more about Gidget, email SacredPawsDogs@gmail.com. Adoption fee $150 and will help care for all her dog pals in our program. Seeking foster home in Dallas, Collin or Grayson County until Gidget's forever home is found.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gidget, a Van Alstyne Bombay cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bombay for sale in Van Alstyne, or seeking a Bombay cat from a breeder in Van Alstyne.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Van Alstyne already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Van Alstyne breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bombay breeders who help with Bombay rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Van Alstyne paves the way for another one to be saved.
