Momo- Blind's Story...
My name is MoMo, although most call me Old Mo! I'm ten years old, and I am looking for my forever home. After being rescued from a high kill shelter, the vet confirmed that I am completely blind. Being blind has some disadvantages, as I need for my human to help guide me at times. Since I am blind, I would prefer a fenced yard to learn the boundaries in my new home, but could also be kept on a leash
when outside. I'm old, but I have a sharp mind still, and my ears and nose work very well. My foster home has stairs to go out to the yard, I have memorized the steps it takes and my foster mom gives me word cues like up up up or down down down. I would love it if my forever home had only a couple of steps or none! My foster home has cats that I don't mind being around. I'm a loving old guy, I enjoy a nice back rub. I'm slow to get up, but I will greet you with my wagging tail! I snore sometimes when I sleep, and I love to sleep. My foster family leaves the radio on while they're gone so I'm not too lonely. If you want to give me my very own forever home to live out my golden years in, apply online today!

All of our dogs come spayed or neutered, fully up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.

For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: http://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. You will receive an automated confirmation once your application is successfully submitted. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the dog you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call ASAP.

We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where dogs can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting a dog in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Thanks so much for caring about a needy animal!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Momo- Blind, a Cincinnati Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Cincinnati, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Cincinnati.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cincinnati already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cincinnati breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cincinnati paves the way for another one to be saved.
