My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Woof! Hello! My name is Elly, who might you be? Woof, I’m pleased to make your acquaintance. As you can probably guess from my photo, I’m a teeny female Yorkshire terrier, and am estimated to be about 2-3 years old. My friends at NBS Animal Rescue are trying to help me find a fur-ever home that fits my personality. Although I’m small (under 4lbs), and most definitely love to be carried around like a princess, I believe in my heart I’m really as big and as tough as a wolf! In my foster home, I’m the littlest-big-boss in the house, and am not afraid to tell big dogs or cats to move off of my spot on the couch. Of course, I don’t bite or anything like that in my foster home, but I don’t appreciate too much commotion, so a home that has kids 6yrs+ would be great. It is important too, that my home understands that although I’m the size of a stuffed animal, I’m a dog that is fragile, and easily frightened. Like many small dogs, I am a barker –so it would be best I live in a home that has neighbors that don’t mind my very chatty personality. Sometimes, at night it does take me a minute to talk myself into going to sleep in the crate, but once I do, I have really cute little snoozey sounds.. As much as I love to “talk”, my need to share my affection is much greater. More than anything, I LOVE to snuggle up close, cuddle up on and even under soft blankets, and I have an endless supply of dainty kisses. On my doggy report card, you’ll also notice I’m getting an A- in potty training (I’m learning to switch for pee pads to the great outdoors), and do really well with someone who will keep my company to do business outside. Although I don’t require a fenced in yard, I do require supervision, and still am figuring out this whole leash thing. My foster mom is working on it with me, and I do really well as long as I get some encouragement along the way. Although honestly, I love to be held close and carried. It’s just my princessy preference. Do I sound like the sassy best friend you’ve always wanted? If so, please apply at www.NBSanimaRescue.com

Thanks for caring, and sharing my photo! Love always,
Elly

P.S. Please don’t forget my individual requirements when applying;
*kids in the home, if any must be 6 yrs+*
*home that has tolerant neighbors (apartments are not best for chatty dogs)*
*someone who will give me kisses and loves to snuggle*

P.S. Here are the helpful steps in applying!

1.) Visit www.NBSAnimalRescue.com happy to adopt me. As an approved adopter, my rescue friends can set up a home visit so I can meet you, and whatever other pets you have in the home to make sure we all get along. Our rescue is 100% run by volunteers, to help your application be processed as quickly as possible, please make sure to do the next steps too. : )

2.) Call your veterinarian and give them permission to release info about your current and past pet’s veterinary history.

3.) Call your references too! Let them know to expect a phone call from an unknown phone number, and a rescue team member will need to talk to them on the phone as a reference.

My adoption fee is $250.00 and includes a DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, de-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine (age appropriate), heartworm test (age appropriate), heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food. If you’d like to meet me, please apply online and to become an approved adopter!

Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on vaccinations and heartworm preventative , spayed/neutered (unless a documented medical reason is on file with your vet). Dogs must be current on Distemper DHPP combo vaccine and Rabies vaccine, cats must be current on Distemper and Rabies at the time of application. This also applies to any pets in your home within the past five years.

While I hope that you have fallen in love with me and are ready to apply, I understand if I might not be the perfect pup for your family just yet. However, would you please help by sharing my picture on Facebook, twitter or by email? I'm a great pup and need a loving family to give all of my love and puppy kisses to! Thank-you for your help!
