Kate's Story...
Six months old and 40 pounds, Kate is a beautiful 'tweenager'. Primarily a Labrador retriever, Kate is mixed with something else that gives her a longer and leggier body- Bulldog? Hound? Pointer? All are good guesses. Her white coat is soft as down; her expressive eyes are bright, honey colored and reflect her intelligence and curiosity. Kate is in a foster home with other dogs and cats, and has proven herself to be compatible with everyone. She is healthy, age appropriately active and eager to find her forever family. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Kate, a Baton Rouge Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Baton Rouge, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Baton Rouge.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Baton Rouge already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Baton Rouge breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Baton Rouge paves the way for another one to be saved.
