My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cybil is a pert, perky, pretty little tabby who probably hasn't had the easiest life. She was rescued by someone from a home where she was not wanted. When her rescuer could no longer keep her, she came to Katie's Place. She was scared at first but settled in quickly and began calling for some attention. When we did give her some attention, she was thrilled and soaked up the pets and strokes eagerly. Once she settled into life at the shelter, she became a model citizen in her communal room. She never makes any trouble and she's not demanding. She blends in so well that it would be easy to overlook her. Yet she does love attention and will follow you around hoping for more pets if you give her just a couple.

It's not easy to live in a busy shelter, and Cybil would probably be happier in a real home with a family of her own rather than living with many cats and people who pass through. So if she's enjoying some pets but there are distracting movements in her peripheral vision (like another cat bent on making mischief with her), she might cut her visit with you short. In a real home of her own, she'd be able to relax more and could show her cheerful, affectionate nature. We've discovered that when it's quieter (outside of our busy open hours), Cybil is more easygoing once she trusts and bonds with you. One volunteer said, "She follows me around looking for cuddles and I don't hesitate to scoop her up and hold her over my shoulder or on my chest, or I'll lean down and touch her gently with my nose and she reciprocates affectionately and with steady purrs." This bright little cat deserves a loving home at last.

Cybil was born around the middle of 2004.
