Important Note

Pumpkin is best friends with Pineapple. Please adopt both of them so they can stay together!
Pumpkins are round and fun and a jolly sight so that's how I got my name because I'm round and happy and so much fun. I really love my "sister" Pineapple, We are like two little sweet ladies and we hang out together and share a bed and like our kennel. We are both quite lovely. Neither of us really cares for "larger" dogs or "busy" dogs, and Pineapple will bark at them. She's feisty that way. We had a really great home with a person that loved us very much but she was getting a little "forgetful" as in she would forget that she fed us and feed us again and we were pretty tubby. We never told her we already ate, and she cooked us great food! So anyway we are both losing weight and getting healthier and we are really happy. Mostly we would love a nice home with a person who will take us in and love us FOREVER! And get us great care and exercise and all the love we need.
Chihuahua Rescue says: Pumpkin and Pineapple are gorgeous Long haired Chihuahuas who have had an extreme groom recently to even out their fur, but they are gorgeous and sweet, house and crate trained. They are older but not necessarily senior. Pumpkin is about 12# and should be about 9#, Pineapple is less than 6#. She is doing well with her weight. Pineapple is also one eyed.
The adoption fee for both these pets is $425 and they are spayed, vaccinated had a recent dental cleaning and they are micro-chipped as well.

About Chihuahua Rescue Indiana- Indianapolis Chapter

About Our Rescue Group...

Chihuahua Rescue Indiana Inc. is a non profit, all volunteer rescue working with Chihuahuas and Chihuahua mixes. The pets are housed in individual volunteer foster homes, not kennels or shelters until they are adopted permanently. We get to know our animals and therefore can tell the potential adopter what the traits of the animal are and what home would be the best for the pet. We are dedicated to the adoption, education, rescue and transportation of the Chihuahua breed. We believe that every Chihuahua deserves a loving home.

Donate to Our Rescue Group...

Donations are up to the individual and are made to a not for profit organization.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We hold adoption events at local Petsmarts, Pet Supply Plus, and Petcos. The dates are fluid and they do coincide with the nationally advertised adoption events at the locales.

Our Adoption Process...

**If you are unable to pay the adoption fee, we are unable to place a dog in your care. Being unable to meet the financial obligations of pet care (recurrent or emergent) is one of many reasons why so many of these pets end up in rescue. It's not lack of love.**
We require an adoption inquiry, and then we will check references. We also check with vets. If the person is not LOCAL then we will partner with a local animal control or Humane Society to do a home visit and give us the go ahead to adopt.
There are adoption fees associated with the costs of veterinary care of the pet. We require an adoption contract to be signed to finalize the adoption process and we have an agreement that all our pets are to be Chihuahua Rescue Indiana Inc. pets for LIFE. In other words, in the event that they can not stay in their adoptive home they are not to be surrendered to another individual or rescue.
