Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Due to state laws regarding out of state adoptions, we cannot adopt to families in Massachusetts or Rhode Island.
Helen is a beautiful 2 year old blue heeler mix who is so ready for her forever home. She has been waiting quite some time for the perfect family to come along. She is very intelligent, well behaved, house broken, crate trained, and has wonderful leash manners. She gets along with kids, cats, and other dogs. Her favorite thing to do is sit on the couch and watch Netflix. She enjoys going for walks and loves to have someone play with her, but she is really laid back and will be a great house dog. She is currently being fostered in Mississippi and will be transported via PETS transport services upon adoption. Her adoption fee is $400 and includes spay, age appropriate vaccinations, a nose to tail vet check, and transport costs.
Second Chances lists dogs as being available in Kittery, ME because we transport our dogs to Kittery every other week after they have been adopted. All of our local shelters have a high euthanasia rate due to overpopulation so we created our rescue group to primarily adopt to the northern states to help keep as many dogs as we can from entering our kill shelters.
