My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

An adoption application on SAMMIE can be found at the following link: http://wp.me/P73YMd-1h
Please email the completed application to weatherley.woofriver@gmail.com
Please submit an application AND do NOT also contact the shelter. You will be contacting both the adoption coordinator and the marketing director, who do not see each other's emails. This causes confusion.

SAMMIE is a gorgeous shepherd girl. She is friendly with both humans and dogs alike. She has lovely house manners and is an ideal mix of cuddle and play. She is at the best stage in life: young and vibrant yet past all the puppy stuff. SAMMIE is a well socialized girl. Her foster family took her with them camping. They say she was an immediate pro. She had a blast meeting many new people and pups. SAMMIE rides well in the car making her a perfect sidekick for errands or adventures. Her forever family is going to be very lucky to call this girl their own.

SAMMIE is spayed, microchipped and up to date on all vaccinations.
Her $450 adoption fee includes interstate health certificate and transport to the Midwest.

An adoption application for CASSIE can be found at the following link: http://wp.me/P73YMd-1h
Please email the completed application to weatherley.woofriver@gmail.com. It typically takes us around 5 business days to process an application. We will reach out to you as soon as your application is processed.

All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, they travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Alpha Dog Pet Transport for our New England, Nashville, and Knoxville adoptions (https://alphadogtransport.com) and The Road Home Pet Transport for our Midwest adopters (https://www.facebook.com/roadhomepettransport).

Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff.

Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding.
