Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Ellis is a handsome, sable, male German Shepherd. He is approximately two years old and weighs 85 pounds. Ellis is a very large boy with a tall frame. He has a moderate-high energy level and is crate-trained and housebroken. He is good with dogs and should be ok with dog-savvy cats but needs to go to a home with no small children.
He tested positive for heartworms when we pulled him from the shelter. He has completed his Immiticide injections and is now ready for his new home. MTGSR pulled him from Sumner County Animal Control in Gallatin, TN.

ADOPTION: Training (for both the dog and the family) increases the probability of a successful adoption. We feel strongly that training is an essential part of responsible dog ownership and we now require training for every dog placed through the MTGSR program.
The cost of adoption is $500 which includes the $250 adoption fee and a training fee of $250 due at the time of adoption.
For the adoption fee, the dog will be spayed/neutered, current on all vaccinations, current on heartworm/flea-tick preventatives and microchipped.
The training fee will include a plan tailored to that specific dog and that dog's needs (obedience training, behavior modification, etc.).
PLEASE NOTE: Our philosophy is “Rescue locally, place locally” which means we primarily pull dogs from shelters in the Nashville area AND we prefer to place our dogs in homes within a one-hour drive of Nashville. If you are outside of the Nashville area, please consider adopting a homeless dog in your local community.
